Cryptanthus, also known as Earth Stars, are some of the only true terrestrial species in the Bromeliaceae family. All Cryptanthus species are terrestrial and do best when planted in substrate. Some customers have had success mounting them in backgrounds or within their hardscape though. If you do wish to try to mount them, if you are able to give them even a small amount of substrate they will have a much better chance to thrive. Many customers are drawn to these due to the wide variety of color. The colors vary based on lighting and maturity of the plant. The plant that you receive may vary slightly from the pictured plant.

Shipped Size: Well rooted plant that has been grown in a 2.5" pot. Will be shipped bareroot. Fresh pups may be sent from time to time as well, if this is the case they will be at least half grown though and ready to be planted without any issue.
