General Information and Care: Geogenanthus ciliatus is a medium to large sized terrarium plant. The leaves on this species will be about 6-8â in diameter when mature and very stiff. The leaves are easily stiff enough to support a Phyllobates terribilis or other large Tinctorius species. This species is not free flowering, so typically all plant are grown from stem cuttings. As the plant matures, each stem will send out side shoots. The leaves on this species are why it is so sought after though. They are a bright green when first emerging with a bright purple stripe down the center and quickly become almost all dark purple. The undersides are slightly lighter with a beautiful maroon coloration. This species should not be allowed to dry out and seems to prefer to stay a bit on the wetter side.
