Species: Sinningia 'Freckles'

Common name(s):

Native to:

Temperature preferences: Warm growing

Water preferences: Medium moisture

Terrestrial or Epiphytic: Terrestrial or Epiphytic

General Information and Care: Sinningia 'Freckles' is one of a handful of micro-mini plants that we offer. To get this notation, the leaves all stay under 1" even when completely mature. The overall plant may grow to be several inches in diameter, but this is only due to its mounding tendencies. This species prefers medium to high light, and medium to high moisture. It has shown an ability to be grown both epiphytically or terrestrial, and does not seem to show a preference to one or the other. This species has light purple and white flowers with some purple speckling in the white areas. Additionally, the leaves on this species are dark green to almost purple under certain lighting conditions. This species seems to be easiest to propagate through tip cuttings which root and flower very easily.

Glass Box Tropicals Plant Care Rating: 4

Shipped Size: Well rooted plant that has been grown in a 2.5" pot. Will be shipped bareroot.

    Amazing but not micro-mini

    Posted by Ryan Volpi on Apr 29th 2023

    This is an amazing plant! Planted into my terrarium in ABG mix it has been flowering non-stop for 6 months! I would absolutrly recomend it. However, the description is wrong in that this hybrid is not a micro-miniature, but just a regular miniature. If you are expecting something the same size as S. pusilla or S. muscicola you will be dissapointed as it is significantly larger.
