General Information and Care: Begonia blancii Mottled is an extremely unique species that Glass Box Tropicals offers. This species was only just discovered in 2010 on Palawan Island in the Philippines. One of the most unique aspects of this species is the thick, succulent, spatulate leaves. Typically, the leaves are 2-3 wide and 3-5 in length. We often recommend this species being a focal point plant as it is so unique and admired. Additionally, in the wild, this species is found growing on rocks. In our experience, it also seems to do well in straight sphagnum as well.
All of the plants of this species that we offer are grown from leaf cuttings, so they all will be the mottled form. When grown from seed, you may get the green or dark form as well. There is still debate on if the three forms are the same or different species.
Glass Box Tropicals Plant Care Rating: 7
