General Information and Care: Ficus sp. 'Borneo' is a relatively new species to the United States. It is a very slow growing, similar in speed to Ficus villosa. The leaf shape is similar to Ficus sp. 'Panama' but is a bit wider and does not seem to get as long. Ficus sp. âBorneoâ also does not seem to fill in as well or as quickly as Ficus sp. âPanamaâ does making it an excellent choice for customers who do not enjoy regular pruning. The leaf color is typically slightly darker and the stemâs a bit woodier.
Being a new species, we have very few available, so if it is in stock, you should get it! We are slowly increasing production, but with the slower growth rate, propagation takes 2-3x as long with this plant as compared to many of the other FIcus species that we offer.
