General Information and Care: Geogenanthus sp. Ecuador is a new species that we found while in Ecuador in the back corner of a nursery that we visited. As soon as we saw it, we added it to our order for shipment upon our return. It is even more stunning in person. The leaves are medium sized, reaching up to about 6 in length and 3-4 in width. However, it is worth allowing it to take up some space in your terrarium. As you can see from the pictures, the coloration is absolutely stunning! The stems are a deep purple color as are the under sides of the leaves. The leaf surfaces are a combination of greens and purples that are extremely striking. Additionally, the leaves and stems are strong enough to even hold up to tree frogs climbing on them. This species prefers to be on the wet side and does not appreciate drying out. As it grows, it is easy to trim and propagate from tip cuttings.
