General Information and Care: Scaphosepalum microdactylum makes a great terrarium subject due to its small stature and love of warm temps and high humidity. The leaves of this species reach about 3" in length and ¼-½" in width. The leaves are a bright green and almost appear like blades of grass in a terrarium. The flowers are very small, and are typically red and yellow, though sometimes they are a very deep red to almost magenta color. In our experience, this species blooms several times a year in terrarium conditions. Overall a stunning species that we even have showcased in one of our own terrariums.
