The leaves are a beautiful green with white stripes in them. In a terrarium it is also rare to see this species flower which is where vanilla extract is derived from. This species tends to do best when planted in substrate and then given driftwood or a background to climb up. The aerial roots it develops will quickly grab onto anything that it can. It is common to see this growing on trees all over Central America now either though it is only native to Mexico and Guatemala.
